Speaker Bio
I am an academic pediatric emergency physician passionate and driven to improve care to children in the setting of emergency department and prehospital arena. As the co-chair of WI EMSC, pediatric medical director for UW EMS Consortium of Dane County EMS and UW Department of Emergency Section of EMS, I look forward to assisting all the emergency care providers in WI to provide the best care for sick and injured children.

As the coinvestigator for a prehospital pediatric pain management grant, I was initially exposed to the field of prehospital medicine in 2004. Through two cycles of MCHB/EMSC targeted issues grant, we developed a pain management module and dissemination to 3 other EMS agencies in the country. This work was the catalyst in my expanding knowledge and supporting prehospital professionals in providing the best emergency care for children. I look forward to continue to educate and innovate to make pediatric prehospital care simpler, safer, and less stressful for all prehospital providers in WI.

In addition to advancing prehospital care, WI EMSC has been instrumental in the initiation of pediatric readiness program for emergency departments. We have been funded by the Advancing Healthier Wisconsin Foundation to begin the quality improvement program for 23 EDs for last 4 year and we are looking forward to continuing our work to engage all the Wi EDs.
